7 July 2015 – An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
McDonald’s Singapore is putting that into action by offering slices of apples and low calorie-high calcium milk as part of its Happy Meals options in the menu since April 2015.
To create greater public awareness of these latest offerings, its new mascot for wholesome food and beverage choices for kids, “Happy”, was launched as a three-dimensional advertisement on four SBS Transit single-deck buses, the first of its kind for McDonald’s in Singapore. These buses ply locations such as Suntec City, West Coast, Kallang, Ang Mo Kio and Jurong East where McDonald’s selected family-oriented restaurants are located. These 1.2 metre-wide 3D structures, made mostly from fiberglass, were fabricated by leading Out-of-Home (OOH) media owner, Moove Media Pte Ltd in a total of six weeks.
Said Mrs Jayne Kwek, CEO of Moove Media: “When we were asked to help bring ‘Happy’ to life, we immediately came up with a 3D installation. Such 3D structures not only create immediate impact with the audience, but will also go a long way in building public awareness.”
Ms Ginger Soon, Assistant Marketing Manager of McDonald’s Singapore said: “Moove Media is the expert in 3D Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising, and this is an innovative way to introduce a brand new character to the public. Together with bus hangers, interior panels and wholly wrapped bus exterior, we are able to deliver the campaign’s message to commuters in a clear and engaging manner. The 3D Happy Meal structures have definitely brought HAPPY to life!”
The “Happy” advertisement campaign, which will end in October 2015, was launched in partnership with DDB and OMD Singapore.
